So today we took a day trip to Duluth, MN to see some friends and decided to take advantage of the great snow and warmish weather (almost 30 degrees) and try taking Gus in a backpack loaned to us. Gus took to it like a champ, and bundled up in his new snow suit, enjoyed the crisp sunny air against his face as we took four laps around Hartley Park, one of my favorite Duluth City Parks. The grooming conditions were perfect. Gus stayed awake for two laps and fell asleep for the second two. He awoke in a great mood, so we’ll try it again tomorrow on a more remote ski trail along the N. Shore of Lake Superior. Can’t wait for him to try skiing on his feet in a few years. Also included in the gallery area few pictures of sledding on Sand Lake pulled by his cousin Casey the other day.

Just too cool! Looks like a great time was had by all.
Good thing you didn’t have to ask Gus for directions, or you’d have had to wake him up. Nice to hear Missy’s voice too.
